5 Spring Break Destinations That You And The Kids Will Enjoy

Spring Break for school-aged children is just around the corner. After several months of hard work at the office or school exams, it is time to plan a vacation. This allows everyone to enjoy some rest and refresh before getting back to the routine of everyday life. The big question is, which destinations are ideal for family vacations? Which vacations will provide a fun getaway for kids and adults alike?

Some of my favorite kid-friendly and adult-friendly spring break destinations include:

1. Castaway Cay, Bahamas

The trip to this small island in the Caribbean will be an adventure and a trip that the little ones will enjoy and remember for life. It offers a wide variety of fun activities so that all members of your family enjoy the trip. Castaway Cay is an exclusive getaway for Disney Cruise guests. The paradisiacal island awaits you with its turquoise waters and white sand beaches. You can enjoy an open-air buffet lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Some of the fun-filled activities available at the destination include parasailing, snorkeling in an artificial lagoon, fishing, building sand castles, touring the island by bicycle or swimming with rays. Adults looking for more tranquility can spend the day at the Serenity Bay, an area of the beach reserved for people over 18 years old.

2. Cancun, Mexico

Cancun is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. The weather is ideal to enjoy a few days of rest with the family. This destination is sunny for much of the year making it the best place to have fun outdoors and enjoy the sea breeze or simply relax in a bunk allowing the skin to tan.

In this paradise, there is a wide variety of hotels for all budgets. The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort, Live Aqua Resort Beach Resort, Fiesta Americana Villas Cancun, and Hard Rock Cancun are some of the best all-inclusive hotels in Cancun. The comfort of having everything at your fingertips will make you feel like royalty. Cancun can be rowdy with college students enjoying their Spring Break, so it may not be suitable for very young children.

3. Orlando, FL

Orlando is a favorite destination for many and it offers a wide range of hotels. Deciding where to sleep in Orlando depends a lot on personal preferences and amenities for kids.

The city is overflowing with dozens of attractions that both adults and children will love. These include Walt Disney World parks (Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom) and Universal Studios Orlando (Universal Orlando Resort and Universal’s Islands of Adventure).

Although these are the best-known options, there are other types of attractions that can be enjoyed as a family. Do not miss a visit to Gatorland, a speedboat ride through the Everglades National Park, go shopping at the Orlando Outlets and feel like a family from space by visiting the Space Kennedy Center.

4. Honolulu, HI

The island is a magnet for discerning holidaymakers and it is a good destination for families looking for music and dance festivals, among other activities. It is home to the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum in Kalihi, which offers a glimpse into the island’s native heritage. Families can attend traditional Hawaiian feast known as a luau.

5. London, UK

London has a lot to offer families traveling with children. Once you have found the perfect room for your family, you can go out and explore the city. You can head towards the Horniman Museum where you will be mesmerized by the colors of the jellyfish in its small aquarium. Children will have a lot of fun when their bus has to make an emergency landing in a family swamp at the Shrek’s Adventure where all of them solve riddles to go home. Fortunately, Fiona, Donkey and even Puss in Boots will help them.
